Hindu Council Concerned on Temple Demolition in Lahore

London: The Hindu Council for UK has expressed its concerns on demolition of Lord Krishna temple, the last temple in Lahore.

“Argument given that the demolition was neither political nor religious, is very flimsy and not acceptable by Hindus in United Kingdom. Pakistan government has full responsibility of actions taken by The Pakistan Evacuee Property Board, which ordered the demolition. It is the officially constituted board by the Pakistan Government to administer the properties left by Hindus on their migration to India”, says Suraj Sehgal, Director for Defense & Security at council.

Demolition was undertaken in order to make way for a commercial building. Council has decided to draw attention of the British and European governments to the abysmal treatment of monitories in Pakistan.
